Rational Ship Design

Rational Ship Design (RSD) is a process dedicated for the hull and structural design of ships by use of first principle design tools. The main advantages are to reduce structures weight by optimising the structure, increase the speed and reliability of the design process and access. Important ship building information at an earlier time than normaly avaiable using standard design methods.

Even though the process was developed by ShipTech for the structural design and appraisal of a large high speed ocean freighter (FastShip TG770), the process can be used for any type of ship. The process is not bound by any specific computation tools or appraisal program and therefor can be utilised to accommodate customers special requirements.
